NEWFOCUS First MC Meeting

On 8th and 9th September 2020, the COST Action CA19111 “European NEtWork on Future Generation Optical Wireless CommUnication TechnologieS (NEWFOCUS)” launched with its first Management Committee (MC) Meeting.

Over 50 MC Members and MC Substitutes from countries all across Europe attended this First MC Meeting. Exceptionally, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting took place online, via Zoom platform.

Ralph Stübner (Action Science Officer) and Rose Cruz Santos (Action Administrative Officer) supported by Giuseppe Lugano and Katchamon Nimprang hosted the meeting. Dr Ali Khalighi, NEWFOCUS’s Main Proposer, presented the COST Action to the Management Committee (MC). Once elected Action Chair, he moderated the meeting following the election.

The participants were introduced to COST and the COST Action and actively participated to attain the objectives of the MC1 which are:

  • Take ownership of the Action challenge
  • Networking and community building
  • Bring everyone to the same level of knowledge on COST
  • Develop Action structure, methodology and planning
